Delivery and Deliverability What's the Difference

Post by bitheeranidas99 » Tue Dec 20, 2022 11:02 am

If you still don't quite understand the difference between delivery and deliverability, don't worry, (unfortunately) you're not alone! We often hear mistaken definitions that unify delivery and deliverability as if they were just “different ways” of pronouncing the same concept, which is not true. Let's get down to business: Since they are different, what does “Delivery” represent and how is “Deliverability” calculated? DELIVERY The delivery rates that you evaluate directly on your ESP (email marketing sending platform) are calculated based on the number of emails sent that reached the providers, that is, that did not suffer any type of blockage along the way.

We cannot know where your messages were directed, whether to the inbox or to Spam. So, even with a 100% delivery rate, your emails may be arriving in the Spam box. Then you must be wondering: “But then my delivery rate should always be 100%! Since if I WhatsApp Number List sent the email, isn’t it obvious that the provider will receive it?” The answer is no. In many cases the e-mails do not even pass through the first filters, being barred immediately. and why this happens? There are several reasons why submissions may be blocked and the responsibility for this is shared between the sender and the submission platform.

In this case the platform needs to offer adequate infrastructure, with quality conditions for sending through dedicated Ips, that is, each sender must have its own sending IP duly prepared for this through Warmup processes . sender is even greater, because there is no point in ESP offering the entire structure if, when sending campaigns, it does not respect good practices and sends Spam, or, for example, emails without authentication settings (SPF/DKIM), with domain pointing to the wrong place, to inactive bases, without engagement, etc. The first filters evaluate this set of actions to allow or not the e-mail entry, but after they enter, the messages will still pass through other filters, and only then will they be destined to Spam or to the Inbox.
