They hold strong relevancy in these and other papers. They are regularly asked in MCQs part of papers. However, it's not MCQs part of the exam that adds to their prominence in exams but it is their relevancy in subjective part of the exam. How can an analysis be strong when it's not based on facts, figures and dates?

The purpose of making a candidate to sit in competitive exam is to evaluate his/her analytical, interpretational and judgemental skills. A candidate can't fulfill this objective without mentioning the dates and historical developments.

Look at the sentence; It feels good when you say- 'Since 'sixty eight years' of its inception, political history of Pakistan has uninterruptedly been in doldrums'; you may write this sentence as, 'Since its inception, political history of Pakistan has uninterruptedly been in doldrums. In the second sentence we did not mention 'sixty eight years', but it didn't impact the beauty of our analysis as in such sentences what is needed more is better expression than referring to dates and such things.

In the same manner, in subjective part it is not necessary to touch upon the birth and death days of the personalities and like things. So you may exclude such dates in subjective part (but not for objective portion)

But the real issue and prominence of dates, time and occasions deserve attention in topics like Aligarh, Deoband, Nadwah; religious movement; Political Evolution etc . where you should have to necessarily mention their dates of establishment, major development and so on. So don't neglect them.

To memorize them, you should have to be little technical. If you remember them today then there is no guarantee you will do so tomorrow too. They are easy to be get away from memory. Therefore make a list of them and arrange them according to nature of the topics they are included in.

You may disregard them now but start focusing and memorizing them from the onset of January and so on.
