Introduction:
Dancing around the fire is not the solution to any problem. One should try to see beneath the surface in order to grasp an idea about the basic issue. Despite a stream of strong words and announcements by the government and previous government, nothing has been done successfully in order to overcome and annihilating religious extremism and militancy.

There are different social, cultural, ethnic and political groups in Pakistan. These groups are not led by any responsible and neutral persons. Leaders of these groups incite the people against one another which causes religious extremism and militancy.

In this way each group try to dominate other groups and conflicts rise among different ethnic and political groups. Religious extremists want to impose their rules at any cost and in this way peace disturbs which causes instability and promotion of democracy.

On the other hand, political groups are dominated by aggresses and these groups try to stable their political dominance and militancy emerges.

Religious Extremism:
Religious extremism tends to a state of mind of a person about his religion in which he has such firm belief on his concept, such that any negotiation from it is unbearable for him.

On the other hand it is a state of holding of extreme religious view by following a particular religion. Extremist is not ready to bear any argument. He is ready to kill a person who is denying his religious beliefs or views. It based on religion especially.

Militancy:
Militancy is aggressiveness irrespective of religion, race, nationality and language. Militants try to dominate political power by violence or threats. Usually religious extremists convert into militants and try to achieve political dominance.


Background of Religious Extremism And Militancy:
Religious extremism and militancy emerged after 9/11 attacks. On the other hand it is considered that both these elements emerged after Afghanistan war. Now a day, these problems are prevailing in the whole of Pakistan.

Causes of Religious Extremism And Militancy:
Many reasons or factors caused religious extremism and militancy. Following are as under:

(ii) Irresponsible Behaviour of Ulemas
(iii) Irresponsible Attitude of Leaders of Ethnic and Political Groups
(iv) Role of Madrassahs
(v) Misunderstanding
(vi) Political Discrimination

Internal Stability And Democracy:
Internal stability and promotion of democracy are key factors for progress of any country. When a country is stable internally then it may progress rapidly. On the other hand when people are given representation in government and fundamental rights are provided then internal stability and democracy promote which causes progress and peace in a country.

For the progress of any country its internal stability is necessary and when a country is stable internally it pave a path for the promotion of democracy. Currently, religious extremism and militancy are threat to internal stability of Pakistan and promotion of democracy.

Disturbance of Peace:
For stability and promotion of democracy peace is a essential factor. Without peace internal stability and democracy come under danger and atmosphere of unrest prevails which disturbs not only government but also public at large.
So, existing of religious extremism and militancy are obstacles for internal stability and promotion of democracy which are necessary to run a state and maintain its essence on world map.

Violation of Human Rights:
Religious extremism and militancy cause violation of human rights. In democratic society violation of human rights are not allowed. So, when human rights are violated people feel unrest and which cause threat to internal stability of a country.
So, both the religious extremism and militancy disturb internal stability and promotion of democracy in Pakistan. When fundamental rights are safeguarded there is no unrest in country and promotes democracy.

Atmosphere of Terror:
Terror or atmosphere of terror affects internal stability of any country and promotion of democracy. Business of a state is badly damage due to atmosphere of terror.
Religious extremism and militancy create atmosphere of terror which is bad for the promotion of democracy and internal stability. So, both these evils are obstruct for internal stability and promotion of democracy.

Inter-Faith Conflicts:
Religious extremism causes inter-faith conflicts among different ethnic groups and causes threat to peace. Aggrieved group try to revenge and a quarrel or roar takes place among different groups which causes internal stability on large scale. So, both these evils disturb internal stability and promotion of democracy.

Destruction of Institutions:
Religious extremists and militants destroy undesired institutions. According to their view these institutions are not according to religion point of view or these have no importance politically. In this way internal stability is damaged by them. On the other hand destruction of political institution causes decline of democracy.

Destruction of Economy:
Economy is essential for the stability of a country without economy a country cannot run rapidly. So, Militancy and religious extremism cause destruction of economy and create unrest in a state and unrest leads to decline of democracy.

Lawlessness:
Lawlessness emerges due to religious extremism and militancy. Writ of government or state is ineffective which causes unrest and atmosphere of fear which leads to instability and instability causes decline of democracy.

So, militancy and religious extremism are obstacles for the promotion of democracy and stability.

Education And These Evils:
Religious extremism and militancy affects education system. Atmosphere of fear and terror creates such a condition that students avoid go to school and save their live from militancy and religious extremism.

Promotion of education is very essential for the promotion of democracy. So, both these evils are danger for internal stability and promotion of democracy.

Non-Growth of Democratic Values:
Both religious extremism and militancy are harmful for the growth of democratic values. Now a day, promotion or growth of democratic values are essentials to pave a path for progress.

Democratic values promote peace, harmony and tolerance which are necessary to lead a peaceful life. So, these evils such as religious extremism and militancy are threat to stability and democracy.

Political Disturbance:
Political stability is necessary to handle daily routine work of a country. Political stability causes internal stability and democracy. Both religious extremism and militancy disturb political stability.

Impacts of Religious Extremism And Militancy:

Present Situation:
Present situation of religious extremism and militancy is possible. Both these groups are trying to dominate not only religiously but also politically.

Both these groups are trying to enhance their influence in country which may cause instability and unrest. In this way democracy may derail.

Suggestions:
Religious extremism and militancy may be reduced through following factors.
(i) Education
(ii) Promotion of democratic values
(iii) Demolishing political discrimination
(iv) Promotion of tolerance
(v) Inter-faith harmony

Conclusion:
No doubt religious extremism and militancy are threat or challenge to the internal stability and promotion of democracy. Both these evils cause, political instability, atmosphere of terror, unrest, destruction of institutions, interfaith conflicts and demolishing of government. These evils emerge due to lack of education, irresponsible attitude of group leaders and political discrimination. These evils may be reduced through education, promotion of tolerance and inter-faith harmony.
