Current Affairs Update: 3rd Dec, 2016
1. Pakistan ranked 122nd in the 2016 Enabling Trade Index (ETI) of World Economic Forum.
Only Bangladesh in the South Asian region lagged behind Pakistan with score of 123.
All other South Asian countries remained ahead of Pakistan in the ranking with India on 102.

2. Dec 3: International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2016 observed across the world.
The theme for the day was Achieving 17 Goals for the Future We Want.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992.

3. On each Dec 3, India observes National Pollution Control Day
This day is observed every year to give honour to thousands of human beings who lost their lives in 1984 due to the Bhopal gas tragedy.

4. New King in Thailand acquires his title and name:
The Prince became Rama X, the 10th king of the Thailandís Chakri dynasty. His official title will be - King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun.

5. Sprint king Usain Bolt won an unprecedented sixth IAAF male Athlete of the Year award.

6. Makkal Pavalar Inkulab was the legendary Tamil poet and activist.

7. A consensus US defence bill, yet to be approved by the House, recognises Pakistan as a key strategic partner and pledges more than $900 million in economic and other assistance to the country.
The bill also conditions $450m from this assistance to a certification from the US defence secretary that Pakistan is committed to fighting all terrorist groups, including the Haqqani network.
This year the amount was $300m, which was not released after Secretary Ash Carter refused to certify in Pakistan`s favour
